Description: Het bestand beschrijft de zogenoemde Groene linten in de provincie Groningen: delen van wegdorpen waar het straatbeeld wordt bepaald door wegbeplanting en slingertuinen. Deze slingertuinen zijn voortuinen in Engelse landschapsstijl, vaak gelegen bij monumentale boerderijen, en geven de dorpen een groen, parkachtig karakter.De provincie heeft deze gebieden geïnventariseerd om hun groene uitstraling te beschermen. Door verharding (zoals wegen en riolering) en daling van de grondwaterstand staat het groen onder druk. Het beleid richt zich daarom op het behouden en versterken van zowel de wegbeplanting als de slingertuinen.Een deel van de slingertuinen is al opgeknapt door Landschapsbeheer Groningen. De locaties van deze groene linten zijn vastgelegd in de omgevingsverordening (kaart 6a) en hangen samen met andere inventarisaties van historische erven en slingertuinen in de regio.Zie ook bestand Slingertuinen: GEO.LNDS_SLINGERTUINEN.
