In Nederland bestaat niet één database waarin alle wadi's, groene daken, waterpleinen en andere water gerelateerde maatregelen worden bijgehouden. In ClimateScan.nl zijn door particulieren en professionals al ruim 7000 Nederlandse water gerelateerde projecten geregistreerd die zich bevinden in de openbare- en particuliere ruimte. Ook al zijn nog niet alle maatregelen in kaart gebracht, is deze data van onschatbare waarde om de variatie en voortgang van klimaatadaptatie in beeld te brengen en mogelijk bij te sturen. Een groot deel van de 7000 bovengrondse klimaatadaptieve voorzieningen zoals wadi's, groene daken en waterpleinen zijn geregistreerd als een zogenaamde polygoon, waardoor per voorziening het oppervlak bekend is. Voor de voorzieningen die als punt zijn geregistreerd wordt een gemiddelde oppervlakte gebruikt voor de berekening.
